Axceleon Acquires Turbolinux Clustering Division and Team

November 5, 2002 -- San Francisco, Calif. -- Axceleon, the leader in high-performance clustering, announced today that it has acquired the highly regarded, and widely deployed EnFuzion clustering solution from Turbolinux.

Axceleon’s EnFuzion software utilizes the combined power of networked computers to significantly reduce application execution time. EnFuzion works with all available computing hardware, including rack mounted servers, Blade servers, idle desktops, and dedicated servers.

Axceleon’s EnFuzion is based on a straightforward concept called parametric execution. Parametric execution is where the same application is executed several times with a different set of input parameters. Examples of parametric execution include what-if simulations, scenario analysis, and Monte Carlo simulations. Parametric executions can demand extensive compute resources, which can be satisfied only by concurrent job execution on a large number of computers. EnFuzion is optimized to efficiently manage and execute a high volume of parametric jobs on a large number of computers, thus delivering optimal acceleration and resource utilization. EnFuzion is easily integrated with existing hardware and software; therefore no additional investments are required in IT infrastructure.
