Pay bonuses linked to IT certifications have dropped this year – and offshoring may be to blame.
Research by Foote Partners shows that bonus pay for 57 certifications fell by 4.1 per cent in the first six months of this year, despite remaining steady for the last two years. Pay for standalone tech skills is also continuing its downward trend, dropping another five per cent so far this year.
It's a big change from the situation over the last couple of years, when the value of standalone skills was dropping at an astronomical rate and bonuses for certifications actually rose slightly.
