Scali Announces VP Of Sales For Global Partnerships With HP
Posted by Kenneth Farmer, Monday October 06 2003 @ 07:50AM EDT

Scali, a leader in high performance clustering solutions, announced that it has appointed a new Vice President (VP) of Sales focussing on managing the global partnership with Hewlett Packard (HP). Ian will drive Scali's relationship with HP and continue to build traction within the global high performance customer base. Ian will lead the development of product, sales and market related activities to drive commercial acceptance and adoption of high performance clustering.

Ian's twenty years of experience in the HPC environment, most recently managing HP's high performance technical computing (HPTC) arena in the UK, enables him to further expand Scali's global footprint. Other recent experience in HPC includes working as General Manager Europe for Exa Corporation, a developer of high-end computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solutions. Ian has further international experience through his involvement in a pioneering company developing graphics super computing, called Stardent.

Bjorn Skare, President and CEO of Scali comments: "Scali is strengthening its leadership team with the addition of strategic executives. Ian has developed critical relationships and experience in our market segment and can therefore strengthen Scali's commitment to HP, HPC and our global market. Scali is fortunate to have hired a VP that has Ian's tailored experience."

Ian Gilbert, VP Sales for the Global Hewlett Packard partnership at Scali says: "The combination of Scali's highly innovative high performance clustering software with HP's leadership position within HPC presents a unique opportunity which I am excited to contribute to. Together, both companies will continue to focus on reducing the complexity and increasing the accessibility of clustering in order to further penetrate the high performance cluster market."

Eugen Volbers, Director of HPTC for HP EMEA adds: "We formed a partnership with Scali to assist in the simplification and standardization of clustering solutions for our global customers. Ian's valuable HPC experience developed during his time with HP will work towards that end. Scali's robust, platform independent software together with HP's technology and field expertise make us well positioned to find new ways to serve our customers together."
