MSC.Software Signs Agreement With CoreTechnologie to Resell 3D_Evolution
Posted by Kenneth Farmer, Wednesday October 29 2003 @ 12:25PM EST

Munich, Europe - October 24, 2003 - MSC.Software Corp. (NYSE: MNS), the leading global provider of virtual product development (VPD) tools including simulation software and services, today announced the signing of a reseller agreement with CT CoreTechnologie GmbH, Germany. According to this agreement MSC.Software will resell the CoreTechnologie product 3D_Evolution throughout Europe.

3D_Evolution Advanced Repair Technology ư converts CAD models containing both highly complex geometry and extensive assembly structures. Using advanced feature recognition, healing functions, automatic data repair, and numerous native and standard interfaces, 3D_Evolution can be used to quickly and easily convert and repair geometry of all sizes, without any losses. The software was specially developed for data conversion and includes smart correction algorithms that automatically eliminate system and construction-related errors in the geometry such as overlapping, gaps and mini-elements.

"The handling of CAD data is an issue for many of our customers who look for cost and time effectiveness, and maximum accuracy, when transferring and converting geometry," said Albrecht Pfaff, Vice President Strategic Development Europe, MSC.Software. "With 3D_Evolution we can now offer our customers a best-in-class technology for advanced geometry transfer."

"Today 3D_Evolution is the leading software for the healing and conversion of CAD models," says Armin Brưning, Vice President at CoreTechnologie. "A product's data processing chain is a significant competitive factor. A break in this chain leads to a considerable increase in throughput time and engineering costs. The loss-free conversion of 3D data is an indispensable prerequisite for the successful integration of all systems involved ư from the virtual design through the FEM analysis to production. New automatic functions have been added especially for MSC.Software in order to simplify models and optimise geometry for the downstream simulation. For us, working with MSC.Software means we have the best partner imaginable in the field of simulation software."
