Real World Linux Welcomes back IBM
Posted by Stephanie Cole, Wednesday February 04 2004 @ 06:17PM EST

Toronto, Ontario, Canada, February 4, 2004 . . . Canada's only comprehensive conference and trade show exclusively dedicated to Linux and Open source applications and solutions for management and technology professionals in all sectors of industry, business and government has received major support from IBM. IBM, a key player in the Linux and Open Source landscape, has booked 1400+ square feet of exhibit space at Real World Linux 2004 and come on board as a Platinum sponsor.

April 13 to 15, 2004, Real World Linux 2004, in its second year, will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto, Canada. The event focuses on key technology and business hot spots and has the support of many prominent professional organizations.

"We are excited to have IBM return in our second year as a major exhibitor and sponsor of Real World Linux 2004," says Bruce Cole, President of Real World Linux. "IBM continues to demonstrate leadership in the Linux/Open Source arena and their confirmation for 2004 with larger space demonstrates the growth of Linux in Canada."

"The Real World Linux Conference & Expo continues to be a great opportunity for individuals, businesses and the entire open source community to learn from one another about the applications and benefits of Linux. IBM is proud to support this cause," said Chris Pratt, manager of IBM eServer Strategic Initiatives at IBM Canada. "IBM is committed to the ideals of innovation and collaboration, the same principles of the open source community. Through Real World Linux, it's our hope that companies use the knowledge and experience they gain to foster business innovation."

Real World Linux 2004 is Canada's largest such exhibition and conference, expected to attract more than 2,500 delegates who will meet 70+ exhibiting companies at the trade show and take in 40 industry related seminars, tutorials and keynote addresses.

Real World Linux is the Canadian meeting place for the professional Linux and Open Source community. Users, advocates and those wanting to learn more about Linux have a mutual goal - to participate in a face-to-face environment with vendors and renowned experts that are specifically focused on Linux.
