Appro 1U-1142H server delivers 4-way high-density and supercomputing power

Milpitas, CA - 03/18/2004. Appro (www.appro.com), a leading developer of high-density, high-performance servers, takes the leadership role and announces the most powerful 4-way processing available today in a 1U form factor. Appro will showcase the Appro 1142H based on Quad AMD Opteron processors at TYAN's main booth in Hall 22, US Pavilion, A6/A7/A8 at CeBIT 2004. This product will be available for purchase in May 2004.

New Appro 1142H server brings value and more power to HPC market This server is designed to deliver the highest power-to-density ratio of any 1U server available. The Appro 1142H server offers scalability, reliability, and the best performance and value to support mission-critical technical applications such as video streaming, database applications, computational clustering and web and mail serving. Appro's outstanding thermal management and innovative mechanical and air duct design allows efficient cooling for four processors in a high-density platform. Appro combines innovative engineering design and the latest in AMD Opteron processor technology to deliver supercomputing performance at an excellent price-performance ratio.

Appro 1142H key features: Up to four AMD Opteron processors with simultaneous 32-bit and 64-bit computing capability, HyperTransport™ technology, support for up to 32GB of DDR memory in 16DIMM Sockets, 2 IDE or SCSI HDDs, slim FDD and CD drives or DVD ROM drive and a full PCI-X 64bit/133MHz riser slot. Appro also offers remote server management capabilities, high-speed interconnect options and a choice of Linux or Windows® operating systems.
