    Introducing HPs Opteron based LC 3000 - High Performance Linux Cluster

    The LC3000 cluster, based on AMDs Opteron, can support 16 to 128 DL145 slaves nodes and a DL380 master node.

    Each node can have a pair of AMD Opteron 2.2GHz processors and a max of 16GB of memory. Customer a has choice of 10/100 Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet or Myrinet 2000 interconnect. Form factor is 1U. The pricing for a 32 node starts at around $68K.

    If you're an HP Direct customer you may be able to get a 5-18% discount.

    The LC series supports over 100 different configurations and their customers will be able to choose optional factory-installed and tested software packages. Back it up with open source software support only a call/email away and you have a winner.

    HP is targeting the following industries with the LC 3000 series:

    Petroleum Engineering and Geo Science
