Appro Extends Leadership in High-Performance Computing

Appro offers services to allow customers to increase capacity on demand

Houston, TX- October 08, 2004 - Appro (http://www.appro.com), a leading provider of high-performance enterprise computing systems announces its new Compute On Demand Service designed to address the increasing demand for supercomputing power in the oil and gas industry. Customers now can use Appro Compute On Demand to contract for additional capacity and services to meet the short-term computational requirements of planned or unplanned peak workloads, new projects and new business opportunities. Appro will present details of this service at SEG show in Denver, CO, booth number 2411.

Appro's Compute On Demand offers a flexible, reliable and scalable outsourcing integrated solution-that can be tailored to best meet customers unique needs. The benefits of this service are that customers can contract for Compute On Demand by paying only for the amount of capacity reserved for the duration of the contract period, and deploy fast and scalable capacity to support their customer's business needs with minimum financial and technical risk. In addition, they can tap into a scalable, secure and highly resilient on demand operating environment while taking advantage of excellent service and support.

Appro offers Server Cluster Solutions with AMD Opteron processor 32-/64-bit technology or Intel Nacona processor 32-/64-bit technology, management and storage nodes, high-speed interconnect options, virtual private network gateway devices, firewalls, Linux or Windows that can be fully customized to meet the customers' needs. The Appro's Compute on Demand Service will be located at Houston, TX or at the customer's site, if needed.
