Roy Perry Included in Chicago Museum of Science and Industry Black Creativity Exhibit

LOUISVILLE, Colo.- Jan. 20, 2005 - Roy Perry, corporate vice president of Global Supply Chain Management for StorageTek(R) (Storage Technology Corporation, NYSE:STK), is being recognized for his significant achievements and contributions to the technology industry. Perry is featured in the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry Black Creativity exhibit, running Jan. 14 - Feb. 28, 2005.

The exhibit, Engineering the Future, showcases the principles of engineering through a team of superheroes that challenge visitors to build a computer, design a building that can withstand an earthquake, create a molecular structure and more. After using basic engineering skills to tackle these projects, museum guests are able meet real engineering professionals and discover what it takes to be successful in the field.

In addition to being a Sloan Fellow, Perry has earned a master's degree in Management from Stanford University, as well as a bachelor's and master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University and Iowa State University, respectively. A renowned and accomplished leader in the technology industry, Perry has earned numerous awards and accolades for his expertise in supply chain engineering and manufacturing, including: 2003 Supply Chain Innovator and Superstar Award from Frontline Solutions magazine; Professional Achievement in Industry Award, from the Black Engineer of the Year Conference; and was recently recognized as one of the 50 Most Important Blacks in Technology for 2005, by US Black Engineer and Information Technology magazine.

Perry has held leadership positions in several technology companies including: Dell, IBM and Allied Signal-Aerospace. As a current member of the executive team at StorageTek, Perry's vision and leadership, maximizing efficiency and effectiveness in the global supply chain, has contributed to consistent earnings growth. In addition, under his leadership, the StorageTek Puerto Rico Plant was recognized by Industry Week as one of the top 25 plants in the world.
