Arkeia Announces Novell YES Certification for Linux-Based Data Protection Solutions
Posted by Jeffrey Swartz, Monday April 11 2005 @ 12:10PM EDT

CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2005--Arkeia Corporation, the leading provider of backup and recovery solutions for Linux-based environments, announced today that its flagship enterprise software has passed the YES certification process for Novell's SUSE(R) LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9).

The YES CERTIFIED mark identifies products that are certified compatible and assures customers that the product is backed by the service and support offerings of the partner and Novell.

Arkeia continues to maintain its position as the first professional network backup solution fully capable of protecting Linux environments of all configurations. It offers the widest coverage in terms of architecture, including x86, Itanium-2, AMD Opteron, PowerPC, SPARC, Alpha and appliances such as Sun Cobalt servers. Arkeia supports a broad range of other operating systems, including Windows, Unix, Mac OS X, NetWare and xBSD.

"The YES Certification guarantees smooth integration into Novell-based enterprise networks that rely on our backup solutions," said John De Vito, Arkeia marketing manager. "The certification also represents an essential and core component of our strategy to maintain our leadership position in the Linux data protection marketplace as we continue to offer the broadest Linux coverage in terms of distribution and hardware architecture support."

SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 is the first enterprise-class server to support the Linux 2.6 kernel. Backed by Novell's global ecosystem of enterprise-level consulting, training and support, SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 supports all relevant system architectures with a uniform code base. This provides IT professionals with a consistent, familiar platform to deploy across heterogeneous environments and affords end users considerable cost savings. Security and software updates are provided uniformly from Novell, which reduces the burden on IT when deploying updates across different hardware and systems architectures.

Free-trial versions of all Arkeia solutions are available for download at www.arkeia.com/download.
