Alliance Delivers High-Performance Solutions for Compute-Intensive Applications
Posted by Kenneth Farmer, Thursday August 18 2005 @ 01:32PM EDT

NEW YORK & SARATOGA, Calif.--Aug. 17, 2005--Candia Computing Solutions (CCS), a leading provider of high-performance computing solutions on the West Coast, and ASPEED(TM) Software have formed an alliance to incorporate ASPEED's ACCELLERANT(TM) solution into Candia's consulting practice.

The partnership addresses the increasing need to accelerate the migration of business-critical legacy applications to GRID-enabled and distributed environments. Working together, CCS and ASPEED will bring the power of distributed computing to even the most computationally intense applications, leveraging ASPEED's ACCELLERANT software to move notoriously non-parallel, non-distributed legacy applications to commodity processor GRIDs quickly, cost-effectively and with minimal risk.

"We searched long and hard for a product that would meet our customers' requirement to quickly GRID-enable their applications, without costly programming," said Xavier Candia, president of Candia Computing Solutions. "With ACCELLERANT, our clients can easily take advantage of the performance improvements, cost savings and ROI of GRID, without the time and expense of re-engineering their applications. It's an exciting solution that really delivers on the promise."

ASPEED's ACCELLERANT can be seen in action at the Intel Developers' Forum, Aug. 23 - 25 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, as the company demos the solution in IDF's Technology Communities for Multi-Core and Digital Enterprise, where innovation takes center stage.

ACCELLERANT is used by financial services, pharmaceutical and other organizations that rely on complex applications to leverage new multi-CPU, cluster and GRID configurations, while ensuring predictable and highly scalable runtimes. The software provides an expedient path to significantly reducing time-to-decisions, handling exponentially higher volumes and delivering more fine-grained analysis for higher precision, using more cost-effective distributed Linux and Windows-based cluster or GRID configurations.

"GRID technology acceptance in the U.S. is growing rapidly," said Greg Ammirati, vice president, worldwide field operations for ASPEED Software. "Our partnership with Candia Computing Solutions will enable companies interested in high performance solutions to quickly take advantage of the cost savings and performance boost of GRID-enabled applications."

About the Companies

ASPEED Software Corporation is a privately held, venture-funded software company based in the heart of New York City with development centers in New York and London. ASPEED's value proposition is to enable clients with computationally intensive applications to significantly reduce response time and reduce run times. Using ASPEED's ACCELLERANT software enables its users to quickly adapt their existing applications to use less expensive and newer hardware technologies in multi-processor, cluster and grid configurations. ACCELLERANT's algorithm-aware API enables the distribution of applications thought by many to be "undistributable", improving competitiveness, productivity and accuracy of the analysis and to participate in company cluster and grid activity.
