MoneyGram Selects MessageWay as B2B Gateway Provider
Posted by Kenneth Farmer, Tuesday September 13 2005 @ 11:57PM EDT

Global payment service firm chooses solution to deliver business critical transactions

LIVONIA, Mich., Sept. 12 -- MessageWay Solutions, Inc. of Livonia, Michigan, a leading provider of B2B e-commerce solutions, today announced that their MessageWay product has been selected by MoneyGram International, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota as a strategic hub solution for consolidating electronic trading relationships with key partners. MoneyGram is a leading global payment services company represented by 81,000 agent locations in over 170 countries.

According to Bill Oelhafen, MoneyGram's vice president of technical services, the solution selection process at MoneyGram was focused on three business critical issues: volume, security and system availability. "MoneyGram is a global leader in international money transfers and money order processing. We needed a solution that would provide comprehensive EDI processing, as well address all of our other managed file transfer needs. And we needed to partner with a supplier that had well-established credentials for delivering high-volume, secure, high-availability solutions." Oelhafen went on to say that platform support was also extremely important in their decision. "We've settled on Linux for our hub solution. With MessageWay, we get exceptional throughput on a Linux cluster. That provides us the availability we require and allows us to meet our service level objectives."

"Our B2B Gateway was a natural fit for the MoneyGram environment," commented Hesh Breakstone, director of North American sales for MessageWay. "Our experience in working with global financial institutions and service providers, as well as large EDI hub users, allowed MoneyGram to deploy MessageWay with confidence. MessageWay provides them with the ability to consolidate their EDI processing with managed file transfer using a single solution."

Greg Faubert, president of MessageWay Solutions, continued, "Financial service providers have a lot in common with other B2B hub users. MoneyGram is an excellent case in point. That's the message we'll be driving home at the AFP Conference in San Antonio."
