Altair Engineering Hosts Optimization Technology Conference

TROY, Mich., Sept. 19 -- Altair Engineering, Inc., a global leader in innovative product development, advanced engineering software and grid computing technology, will host its third annual Optimization Technology Conference (OTC05) on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., in the Grand Ballroom of Troy's Somerset Inn. The conference will be immediately followed by a networking reception. Event sponsors include Cray, Desktop Engineering magazine, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Safe Technology and SGI. Thomas J. Lange, director of Corporate R&D for Procter & Gamble is the keynote speaker. The conference focuses on the latest technology and processes in product innovation and development, and draws more than 300 engineering professionals from a number of industries. Technical presentations by optimization thought leaders include discussion on the significance of simulation-based technology in real-world applications and demonstrations on how optimization technology relates to product performance, robustness and reliability. The presenters include top engineers from CD-adapco; EADS Astrium (U.K.); General Dynamics; General Motors; ITESM (Mexico); Lockheed Martin; Visteon, and Volkswagen AG (Germany).

OTC05 attendees are also eligible to attend an exclusive training seminar the following day, Sept. 28, 2005. Attendees at the seminar will learn state- of-art-techniques and strategies in structural optimization and robust, CAE- based design methods, using Altair OptiStruct® and Altair HyperStudy®. In doing so, they will learn the best practices to improve design performance, as well as save weight, time and money in developing new products.
