The Daily Texan: By manually entering codes from his keyboard, Kazushige Goto has changed the world of computer programming.
Goto, 37, moved to Austin from Japan in December 2004 to work for the Texas Advanced Computing Center, a University research center that develops advanced computing technologies. During the past several years, Goto has become famous in the high-performance computing community for developing programming that allows for unprecedented calculation speeds for supercomputers.
Goto develops unique versions of Basic Linear Algebra Subroutines. BLAS are used in almost every facet of computer science.
