Tampa Tribune: For six days next week, the Tampa Convention Center will become the center of the world's supercomputing industry - and house more computing power than many large countries.
That's because the world's top makers of supercomputers, and the scientists who use the machines, are converging on the convention center floor for their annual festival of high-performance computers.
Part trade show, part science fair, the convention is considered the premier event for the high-performance computing market. More than 9,000 computing experts are expected to attend, and on Tuesday, event officials will release their Top 500 list of world's most powerful computers - a major contest of prestige in the computing world.
