Appro XtremeServer Was Named as a Finalist in eWEEK's 7th Annual Excellence Awards
Posted by Maria McLaughlin, Appro, Tuesday June 05 2007 @ 02:59PM EDT

Appro announced today that eWEEK, a Ziff Davis Media publication and one of the IT industry's leading enterprise magazines, has named Appro 1U Quad XtremeServer a finalist in eWEEK's seventh Annual Excellence Awards program, in the Server Hardware category. Winners will be announced on June 11th at eWEEK.com, and will be published in a special report in the June 25th edition of eWEEK.

"We are very pleased the Appro 1U Quad XtremeServer has been recognized by the eWeek judges as one of the finalists in the Server Hardware category," said John Lee, VP of Advanced Technology Group of Appro. "The 1U Quad XtremeServer offers innovative server architecture providing excellent performance, flexibility and high-bandwidth for supercomputing clusters at a competitive price for the high-performance computing market."

The eWEEK Excellence Awards program provides enterprise professionals with a comprehensive benchmark for assessing a wide range of technology products and services. Evaluating the entries is a panel of experts including eWEEK Labs analysts and eWEEK Corporate Partners -- senior enterprise IT professionals who act as reader representatives.

"We were very impressed by the quality of the entries we received this year, as well as by the number of entries -- more than 800," said eWEEK Editorial Director Eric Lundquist. "It was a real challenge to choose the finalists because all of the entries reflect the tremendous effort the industry is making to respond to the increasing demands businesses are placing on technology."

eWEEK is the essential technology information source for builders of enterprise infrastructure. eWEEK helps its readers successfully evaluate, deploy and leverage new technology solutions for competitive advantage. The publication delivers news, technology evaluations and strategic analysis on the technologies, platforms and trends that affect enterprise-wide computing.
