Lisle, IL, Sept 11, 2008 — Three industry leaders in high performance computing (HPC) and web services will be offering a webinar at 2 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday, September 17th to demonstrate how open source cluster systems can be deployed within Amazon’s EC2 cloud.
Experts from Amazon Web Services, BioTeam, and Univa UD will participate in the one-hour web session, which will provide overviews on Amazon’s EC2 web services, the UniCluster open source software stack, and deployment of this software within EC2.
The content will include a question and answer session around the white paper “UniCluster and Amazon EC2,” published several months ago by BioTeam , a high-performance consulting practice that delivers science-driven solutions to IT, storage, and data management challenges.
The webinar presenters will include:
- Chris Dagdigian, BioTeam
- Jinesh Varia, Amazon Web Services
- Gary Tyreman, Univa UD
“A growing number of our clients are interested in how services like EC2 can benefit them, so in this webinar we’re providing real-world information and examples to help make cluster users’ lives easier,” says Tyreman. “For IT decision makers and system administrators who need to understand the potential of EC2, this is a great way to get key data points from the people out there in the field making it happen.”
“I’ve been excited about the response to the white paper and am looking forward to answering questions from folks who are out there trying to use EC2 for their cluster implementations,” says Dagdigian, who authored the white paper which is a focal point of the presentation.
